The trail is easy to navigate for little legs and is well marked, so finding the bamboo forest is easy; dogs on a leash are welcome. The bamboo is tall, which provides shade, so be sure to keep an eye on the little ones.

An old growth forest in the heart of Sandy Springs, Big Trees Forest Preserve is 30 acres of natural forest that features three hiking trails that are easy to traverse. No bikes are allowed, but dogs on a leash are. Since it is home to native plants and animals, proper etiquette is required. You can find the rules and trail maps online.
