3 Things to Know About New Centennial Olympic Park Fireworks Show
Chances are if you have lived in Atlanta very long, at some point you attended the Lenox Square Mall fireworks show decked out in red, white and blue for the 4th of July. After almost 60 years this year, the fireworks arrangement will be slightly different.
Lenox Square Mall and Centennial Olympic Park announced a partnership to combine forces and hold a fireworks show together in Centennial Olympic Park. There will no longer be a fireworks show at Lenox Square Mall.
“By partnering with Centennial Olympic Park, we can deliver an even better experience for everyone involved,” Robin Suggs, general manager of Lenox Square, said in a media release.
Grammy-award winning R&B singer Bobby Brown, two-time Grammy award winning artist Ann Nesbyand, and member of Grammy Award-winning country duo Sugarland, Kristian Bush are set to perform. The fireworks are scheduled for 9:45PM and will be televised locally on WSB-TV.
Parking will be available in the Red Deck on Andrew Young International Boulevard, next to the Georgia World Congress Center and Georgia Dome. Taking MARTA is strongly encouraged for the event. Centennial Olympic Park is very convenient to the Georgia Dome and Peachtree Center stops.
Families will have to make a slight change of plans this year, but with the green space and other family-friendly activities surrounding Centennial Olympic Park, it’s going to turn out to be a exciting one.
