6 Reasons We Love the North Georgia State Fair
The North Georgia State Fair, held in Marietta’s Jim R. Miller Park, is the largest in the metro area. Now through October 1, enjoy carnival rides and games, a petting zoo, pony rides, a children’s area and more!

Carnival Midway
This large carnival midway includes more than 40 twirling, spinning and fast rides for every level of thrill. Favorites include the Wildcat Rollercoaster, Georgia Mountain Lift, the Mega Slide and the Wave Swinger. Classic carnival games top off the area, where visitors can win prizes of all kinds.
New Attractions
This year, even more attractions and performances are added. With the Sea Lion Splash!, watch these unique creatures balance balls, catch rings and perform gymnastics tricks. The 9-feet-tall MAX POWER towers over crowds. See dinosaurs in action at Jurassic Kingdom. View thrill-seeking diving dogs with the Ready Go Dog Show.
Beautiful Baby Contest
Parents can show off their beautiful babies at this contest on Sept. 24, sponsored by Atlanta Parent! The judging is informal and the contestants may dress any way they wish: as cowboys, sailors, cheerleaders or in suits and dresses. Age categories range from 0 to 36 months. Signup begins at 2 p.m. the day of the pageant.
Live Entertainment
A covered arena guarantees concerts rain or shine. The Carriage KIA Grand Stand includes: The Piccolo Zoppe Boutique Circus on Sept. 21-24; Demolition Derby on Sept. 25 and 28; Full Throttle Monster Trucks on Sept. 26-27; and American Bullriders Tour on Sept. 29-Oct. 1. All entertainment is included with fair admission.
Returning Live Acts
Petting Zoos
Kids will love getting to pet animals of all kids. The Eudora Farms Exotic Petting Zoo has 20-25 exotic animals from around the world. See a wallaby, a zebra and a lemur, and ride a camel. The North Georgia Animals Petting Barn includes horses, goats, cows, rabbits, llamas and pony rides.
