With the perfect mix of whitewater rafting, zip lining and other outdoor adventures, matched with unique yurt or cabin lodging, there will be plenty of time for family and friends to connect while visiting Wildwater Adventure Centers.

1. Multiple Rivers for Rafting

Are you looking for big adventure? Check out the wild and scenic Chattooga River, with steep drops through a wild gorge, or the exciting class III and IV waves of the Ocoee River. Looking for family-friendly fun with lots of splashy waves? Check out the Nantahala and Pigeon River trips.

2. Zip Line Canopy Trips

Choose from five full-length zip line courses across Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and North Carolina, plus two Kid Zips for the youngest flyers. These high-flying trips include multiple zip lines, sky bridges, rappelling and more. Soar across trees and take in river and mountain views. Kid Zips are for ages 4-12, offering a less-intense experience with fun swoops and a continuous cable system.

3. Scenic Jeep Rides

Wildwater offers two-hour Jeep Adventure trips. Each is led by guides who will introduce you to the cultural and natural history of the area along the ride. The Nantahala tour features some of the spectacular waterfalls in the Smoky Mountain region, while the Pigeon River tour features historic settlements and buildings on the outskirts of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Both trips provide ample opportunity to see wildlife including deer, wild turkeys, birds of prey and sometimes, even bears!

4. SUP and Kayak Tours

The Chattooga River ends into Lake Tugaloo, and the lake stretches across the Georgia and South Carolina state border. With no tides or currents and little motorboat traffic, Lake Tugaloo is the perfect spot to try out SUP, or stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking. Experienced guides will teach you safety and paddling skills for both paddle boarding and kayaking.

5. Close-By Lodging

Within walking distance to rafting trips and zip line tours, these cabins, cottages and yurts are perfect for a weekend getaway. In Chattooga, choose from luxury cabins to sleep up to 12 or yurts with bunk beds for a fun experience for kids. At the Nantahala location, stay at the group lodge, campsites or in eight different yurts.

With more locations than any other outfitter in the Southeast, Wildwater Adventure Centers has been trailblazing fun in the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains since 1971. wildwaterrafting.com; 866-319-8870.
