Activity: Homemade Bird Feeder
Encourage more wild life activity in your back yard by hanging a homemade bird feeder.
What you will need:
Empty milk carton
Popsicle sticks
Paint
Wooden dowel
Wire coat hanger
Scissors
Glue
Take your milk carton and cut two openings on opposite sides large enough for the birds to enter. Paint the carton any way you like then glue popsicle sticks across the top as shingles to create a roof and let dry. Carefully undo a wire coat hanger and poke through the top of the carton and twist together over the top to create a loop from which to hang the feeder. You can create a perch for the birds by pushing a wooden dowel into the carton at one of the entrance holes. Finally fill the bottom with bird seed and watch the grateful birds enjoy your hard work!
