If your child loves all things related to space, airplanes and aviation, plan a trip to an air show or museum, take a virtual trip to space, or explore these online resources.
On October 24-25, see top military and civilian aviators perform amazing aerial feats, including the Golden Knights Parachute Team and the USAF Thunderbirds Jet Team. Sharing the history of our Air Force heritage and military veterans, the museum has a collection of over 80 historic U.S. Air Force aircraft, missiles, cockpits and award-winning exhibits. Take a ride on a virtual reality simulator and experience a Spacewalk, Cosmic Coaster, Wing Walker, Prehistoric Dive and more. Look for STEM workshops, special events and classes online. Adjacent to Atlanta Motor Speedway, visitors to the museum can learn the story of the U.S. Army’s aviation program. Explore vintage aircraft dating from the Vietnam War and the Cold War, including AH1 Cobra and UH1 Huey Helicopters and an L19 Bird Dog Reconnaissance Airplane.

Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum Website You don’t have to travel to Washington D.C. to experience the Air and Space Museum! Kids can explore articles, videos, live chats and presentations on monthly topics like Earth From Above, Flight, International Space Station and Careers.
NASA Kids’ Club Games and fun facts, at-home STEM activities, news on NASA missions, videos, interviews from the ISS and more will get kids excited about space.
National Geographic Kids Passport to Space Kids can explore the solar system through photos, stories and videos; test their skills with space games and quizzes, and learn“weird but true” space facts.
Take part in an interactive virtual road race and outer space exploration adventure! Science ATL’s road race is now virtual; download the Race Through Space app and and run any time. Runners take a virtual tour of the galaxy – traveling millions of light years in a 5K trip.

Civil Air Patrol’s aerospace education program promotes aerospace, aviation and STEM-related careers. The Cadet Program serves youth ages 12-20 who are interested in learning more about aviation and aerospace. To find a Civil Air Patrol squadron near you visit the website.

Currently closed due to COVID-19. Our city might have one of the busiest airports in the world, but we have just one hometown airline – Delta Air Lines. The Delta Flight Museum in Hapeville allows visitors to experience the rich history of Delta aviation and get up-close with massive airplanes.
