If you consider yourself a burger aficionado (and even if you don’t), then run, don’t walk to Bocado Burger! This is one of those burger places that you just have to try for yourself.

My family was eager to check out this Alpharetta eatery where you make your selections at the counter, take a number, and find a seat inside or on the large open-air garage door patio, which is equipped with powerful heaters to keep diners comfortable year round. The big difference here is that even though you order at the counter, no money exchanges hands until the end of your meal. A large part of the Bocado Burger experience is having an “open tab” where a server regularly checks on your table and can bring more food or beverages.

What’s on the menu: One of the most popular items is the “Bocado Burger Stack” ($9.29), which features two grass-fed hamburger patties on a delicious bun from Holeman & Finch, a local bread company. The “Fried Chicken” sandwich ($9.79) comes in at a close second. Diners can also build their own burgers with beef, turkey, or vegan selections. Bocodo Burger prides itself on homemade sauces such as Horseradish Cream, Roasted Garlic Mayo, Spicy Mayonnaise, and Sweet & Spicy BBQ. The array of toppings includes cage-free farm eggs, fried green tomatoes, roasted wild mushrooms, and Applewood bacon. The menu also offers salads, grilled cheese, hot dogs, chicken fingers, and “snacks” for $3-$7 (“Fried Brussels Sprouts”, beets, quinoa). White, whole-wheat, and gluten-free bread options are available. The not-to-miss French fry offerings include “Herb Fries with Ranch”, sweet potato fries dusted with brown sugar or cinnamon, and plain fries.

Why kids will like it: My three boys polished off each of their $5.99 kids’ meals consisting of a hamburger, chicken fingers, and grilled cheese in no time. For the first time ever, my 7-year-old didn’t even leave behind the crust on his grilled cheese sandwich – he ate every morsel! The kids’ meals came with a choice of carrots, fries, or salad plus a drink. The highlight of the kids’ evening was adding on creamy $2.99 milkshakes without even having to get up and order at the counter!

Why parents will like it: Bocado Burger has so many potential flavor combinations that parents will already be planning for their next visit. Bocado Burger was quite the casual dining experience, yet with high-quality food and service.
