Help your child learn firsthand about the insect world with these creative and bright jars.
Colorful felt, foam or paper scraps
Glue, glue dots or double-sided tape
Clean, dry plastic or glass jars
Ribbon and trim as desired
Nail and hammer
Decorate lid using glue and shapes cut from felt, foam or paper.
For ventilation, have an adult hammer small air holes in the lid with a nail
For decorative grass, cut long strips of felt, foam or paper to fit around jar. Glue or tape in place and let dry.
Add a few leaves and twigs, and then catch some ladybugs, fireflies or grasshoppers. Be sure to let them go after observing.
