It is no surprise to us that Lonely Planet named Atlanta number six in their list of ten best U.S. destinations you need to see in 2017, we already know Atlanta rocks!

There are so many reasons to love our city and we continue to be pleasantly surprised with all of the new things it has to offer. As the article mentions, 2017 brings two impressive new sport venues to our city! We can’t wait to head to a Braves game at SunTrust Park or catch an Atlanta United soccer match this summer in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Our Family Fun Guide provides events, restaurant reviews and exciting new attractions so your family can explore every inch of Atlanta. The BeltLine, also mentioned, is one of our favorite ways to spend a Saturday afternoon. It is a perfect place for your family to ride bikes or walk and admire the artwork along the path.

We also can’t wait to bring you a giant roundup of our favorite playgrounds come May, or our favorite water play areas as the weather continues to warm. Lots of new exhibits and shows will also come to our city this spring including “Pete the Cat” at the Center for Puppetry Arts or the work of children’s author and illustrator Ashley Bryan at the High Museum of Art. Our staff searches far and wide to bring you the newest and coolest ways to fill your weekends.

If you want to get out of the city, visit our travel page for ideas. We have travel recommendations for two other cities mentioned: number one, Asheville and ten, The Emerald Coast. We also named the top 100 kid-friendly places to visit around the South—start planning for your summer vacations now!
