Table of Contents
Get Your Ski On
Copper Mountain has 21% beginner terrain and a chair lift that services those beginner runs. Kids can ski all day, then ski right over to the T-Rex Grill just off the slopes for lunch. Green Acres is their beginning ski area, where you can start on your own if not taking lessons and need a quieter area away from the ski school. Green Acres Snow play and sledding zone also provides an area where you can bring your own sled and play in the snow. They also offer many trails and lifts for more advanced skiers to explore.
Great Lessons
Private lessons from the Ski and Ride School helped our kids gain confidence on the ski trails. The school’s full day option is reasonably priced. They also offer private lessons for you and as a family.
Family Friendly Activities
Our kids still talk about the Rocky Mountain Coaster at Copper Mountain, and we only got to go down it once! This Tubing Hill is a huge, topsy turvy hour of fun. Choose your spin level of tolerance and they will send you off sliding down. Kids will also love finding their way through the free Snow Maze. Another neat activity is the Barn at Woodward—a 19,400 square-foot indoor training facility for snowboard, ski, skateboard, BMX, trampoline and tumbling disciplines. They offer a tots tumbling and trampoline time. Plus, kids ages 7 and older can explore the barn with a parent after an introduction session.
Smaller Resort Vibe
Copper Mountain has a shuttle to easily take you around the three villages at the resort: Center, East and West. Center Village has a cute town at the bottom of the main ski slope. It has gift shops, restaurant, a market and more.
Delicious Eats
Center Village has a variety of great dining options to keep your family happy. Ten Mile Tavern was our favorite restaurant. They have the largest pretzel you’ve ever eaten, burgers, salads and more. Make sure you don’t miss Sugar Lips Mini Donuts—a yummy treat!
Copper Mountain offers a variety of condos, townhomes, and the Element 29 hotel. We stayed in a condo to have the option of a kitchen and room to spread out. Look for lodging deals, like booking two nights, and get the third for free. Plus, Kids Ski Free with the purchase of adult tickets.
