“Run! Jump! Fly! Adventures in Action” is a fun and engaging way to get your kids moving. A series of eight stations, including Kung Fu Forest, Climbing Canyon, Surfing and Snowboarding, and Action Star Training challenge kids of all ages and physical abilities. Inside the exhibit, we picked up an action tracker sheet so we could stamp each station as we went.
My 5-year-old, Cricket, loved pretending to surf and snowboard on the motion-sensor activated boards. She also kept returning to Flycycle Sky because pedaling the stationary bike lights up a star board.
I’ve sometimes wondered if my 9-year-old, Peyton, is getting too old for the Children’s Museum, but she said that “Run! Jump! Fly!” was her “favorite exhibit ever!” Peyton loves to compete in challenge races, so the strength station was her favorite. It challenges balance, strength and muscular endurance with activities like rowing and monkey bars. This exhibit does a wonderful job of combining imaginative, interactive play with physical activity. My kids were enthusiastic about getting involved in each station.
Know Before You Go: Admission costs vary; save money by buying tickets online. Ticket prices during non-peak days are less expensive. Parking is about $10 in the garage across the street. There is construction scaffolding outside the museum, but it’s still open during normal hours. The museum is closed on Wednesdays. As a parent, I love that I can bring in my own snacks or food to eat in the designated area. After all the running and jumping, I would suggest packing a light snack or even a full box lunch.
