Ribbit the Exhibit

April 15, 2017 - July 15, 2017

Ribbit!  Ribbit!  My daughter, Micah, and I officially speak “frog,” as a result of visiting “Ribbit the Exhibit” at Atlanta Botanical Garden’s Gainesville location.

Micah, age 9, loves frogs!  When we heard about the exhibit with over 20 copper frog sculptures, we had to attend.

The first thing visitors see is an enormous topiary frog that makes the initial beautiful connection between the flowers in bloom and the sculptures of the frog exhibit. We were amazed by the amount of detail and creativity that each copper frog exhibited.

From the painter to the fisherman to the ballerina, each frog was full of personality and charm and sculpted details. We zipped through the gardens to learn the names of the frogs and their frog occupations, or as we called them, “frog-u-pations.” We were having so much fun that we found ourselves making up our own names and creating stories about each frog we met.

Micah’s favorite frog was the ballerina – she loved her tutu.

Other visitors were also captivated by the frog displays. Everyone around us, from grandparents to the very young, had a smile or a comment for these eye-catching frogs.

Micah even drew inspiration from the “Zenny Frog” as she decided to take a seat and meditate with “Zenny.”

We enjoyed the day so much, we continued to make up frog stories on the drive home.
