Review: The Amazing Castle at Children’s Museum of Atlanta
June 9, 2018 - September 9, 2018
Event Navigation
The Amazing Castle exhibit transports into a time where every job in a community served a royal purpose.
Children can dress in regal attire as they wander through the beautiful village hidden beyond the castle’s stone walls. The Great Hall and Garden, The Royal Workshop and The Dragon tower are just a few of the many places to explore.
The castle walls ring with laughter as kids cook a meal fit for a king or wake Herald, the sleeping dragon. They can pick vegetables from the castle garden, try their hand at making or repairing clothing, do carpentry or blacksmith work, or take part in the puppet theater. Kids also can create a crown or goblet in the craft class offered every 30 minutes.
Storytime is right outside the castle walls and incorporates this attraction. With so many hands-on activities, this exhibit creates an opportunity for your children to meet new friends and work together to help the town run smoothly. My kids, Bailey and Joshua, loved the costumes and role-playing in the castle kitchen and gardens. We spent about two hours at the Museum this time.
When you go, pack a lunch and plan to stay longer – explore the castle, then everything else the Museum has to offer, including shows and crafts.
