Discover the rich history of the New Echota-Cherokee Capital State Historic Site through an enriching and interactive field trip. Students will enjoy a Ranger-guided tour of twelve historic and reconstructed buildings, a 17-minute film, and museum gallery exhibits. Tour highlights include a Cherokee farmstead, the 1827 Missionary Home-Station, the 1803 Vann’s Tavern-Store, the Phoenix Newspaper Printing Office, the Cherokee Supreme Court House, and the Cherokee Council House.
