At Frazer Center Nature-Based Camp, rising kindergartners and first-graders will enjoy an array of outdoor activities in Frazer Forest and our surrounding gardens.
The Center's nature-based curriculum coordinator and her team of counselors will guide the campers, but activities are child-led. A typical day may begin with mindful yoga before heading outside to explore and play. Sometimes a visiting expert from organizations such as Trees Atlanta, Eco-Addendum, and the Wylde Center will join the campers for a morning session, sharing their wisdom and leading fun activities. After lunch and a rest period, the children head back outside for more fun.
Research on nature-based learning is a growing field, and certain benefits continue to emerge from studies, such as increased critical thinking and problem-solving skills, increased resilience, increased executive functioning, and reduced stress.
Frazer’s nature-based summer camp will be a wonderful experience that stimulates campers’ curiosity about the natural world that surrounds them—hopefully, for a lifetime!
Frazer Center fosters an inclusive learning environment for children with and without disabilities. If your child has a developmental delay or disability, you’ll be able to share information in the camp application and speak with our staff. Together, we’ll assess whether Frazer’s Nature Camp can provide the support your child needs to have a successful camp experience.
