Camp Wayfarer

Camp Wayfarer is a traditional, co-ed overnight summer camp for boys and girls ages 5-16, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Family-owned and operated since 1992, Wayfarer is intentionally small, allowing our team to build meaningful, individualized connections with each camper and their family. This close-knit, “mom and pop” camp atmosphere creates a warm, welcoming environment where campers feel known, supported, and truly at home.

With more than 30 activities to choose from, campers design their own daily schedules, exploring a wide range of offerings including team and individual sports, target sports, performing arts and creative arts. At the core of the Wayfarer experience is a focus on personal growth, setting goals and building relationships with their peers and mentors. Wayfarer encourages campers to build independence, create lifelong friendships, and set and achieve their own goals. Beyond camp, we take full advantage of our stunning mountain surroundings through out-of-camp trips like mountain biking, hiking, and overnight camping adventures, helping campers connect with nature while building confidence and resilience.
