DESCRIPTION:Anticipating being showered with Nickelodeon’s signature neon green slime\, I stepped into Slime City with my daughter Gracie and her friend Cyrilla Ens\, both 9.\nNow through Sept. 1\, Nickelodeon gives kids of all ages a chance to have “the slime of your life” with a new pop-up experience in Buckhead where slime seekers rotate through a variety of rooms before the grand-finale sliming at the end.\nAs the girls and I made our way through 20\,000 square feet of “slime reimagined\,” we realized that there is more to Slime City than just slime. Here are 10 ways to have the “slime of your life.”     \n            \n\n  \n\n                \n     \nHave an iconic experience\nFor 33 years\, kids have watched other kids and celebrities get slimed on shows like “You Can’t Do That On Television\,” “Double Dare” and annually on the “Kid’s Choice Awards.” The pop-up experience lets kids and adults get drenched in slime first hand.\nMove at your own pace\nWhile the entry is timed\, guests can meander at their own pace through the rooms. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get through the attraction.\nTouch a slime waterfall\nAfter a short intro video\, we began our tour at Slime HQ\, where large green tubes spell out “slime.” Kids can spin wheels\, turn levers and put their hands in a slime waterfall. I thought the slime was soothing because it was warm. The slime is easily cleaned off with paper towels.\nDance at the Slime Light Club\nFeel the good vibes and dance in the room with black walls\, neon signs and mirrors. The Slime Light Club pays tribute to the Limelight\, an Atlanta hot spot that used to be in the same space in the 1980s. Another plus: you can draw on the black walls with fluorescent markers.\nMake an impression at the Great Wall of Slime\nImprint yourself on the wall of moveable levers or use large shapes to make impressions. Then stand back and admire your handiwork or even better\, sit inside it.\nWalk the orange carpet and receive a blimp\nSlime City has rolled out the orange carpet for its guests in the Hall of Slime. Walk the orange carpet and imagine you are receiving the blimp award. Check out photos of celebrities who have been slimed on the Kid’s Choice Awards.\nPlay big bubble wand basketball\nIn the Slime Bubble-torium\, kids can bat around tons of bubbles (balloons). Employees also hold big bubble wands that kids can try to shoot balloons through.\nMake slime\nIn the Slime Lab\, kids are given containers of green sticky goo. They add decorations like beads\, pour in a little of the “secret ingredient\,” knead the concoction\, and voila! They have slime.\nEnjoy the park\nA replica of the Centennial Park\, the Slime-tennial Park is a green room with a mural of the Atlanta skyline and park benches. Kids can play on a real tire swing and merry-go-round.\nRelax before the Big Slime\nKids and adults can calm down and relax in the Slime Down Lounge\, an area with a huge foam bean bag that kids can climb and roll on.\nBrace for the ultimate honor\nNickelodeon’s ultimate honor is sliming\, and the last room is where it happens. The girls and I donned ponchos\, took off our shoes and padded across a rubber grate to the sliming area. We were part of the group sliming\, so we each stood underneath a slime spout while the employees counted down. And then we were blasted with the slime. It felt cold\, even with the poncho on. Our feet were green from slime\, but the ponchos kept most of the slime off of us. Slime City Employees had lots of green towels to so we could clean up.\nOverall\, it was an exciting experience\, but the best thing is we can say “we got slimed!” \nKnow Before You Go:\nIt’s best to wear t-shirts and shorts. I wore capris that rolled up\, and they still got drenched in slime. Luckily\, I took a change of clothes\, and there are changing rooms.\nThere are lockers to hold belongings while you enjoy Slime City.\nSouvenirs and snacks are sold at the Slime Store.\nThe slime is non-toxic and usually washes out of clothes (it all washed out of mine in one wash)\, but the ingredients are top-secret\, Nickelodeon officials say. \n-Janeen Lewis \n$29 for general admission which gives entry to all Nickelodeon Slime City’s rooms of Slime Reimagined; ages 2 and younger\, free. Tickets must be purchased in advance; limit 8 tickets per transaction; tickets valid only at assigned date and time slot. Children of all ages must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. Hours: Sat. 9 a.m.-8 p.m.\, Sun. 10 a.m.-7 p.m.\, Wed.-Fri. 10:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.\, closed Mon. and Tues.
