October 14, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Event Navigation
There is so much to see and do at our 14th Annual Family Festival, which features more than 50 exciting family-friendly activities, live entertainment including performers, storytelling, local groups, food, interactive exhibits and more. Get your tickets early and check out our must-dos this year:
Meet Lots of Animals
Meet a cow or ride a camel. Come catch a glimpse of life on a farm when you say hello to two dairy cows, “Straw” and “Berry” from Homestead Creamery. The camels from Sam’s Path Petting Zoo are back and ready to ride. Also meet a kangaroo, monkey, baby goats, parrot and more.
Get Moving
Get moving by visiting the Atlanta Track Club’s booth to learn about their free, game-oriented youth running program, Kilometer Kids, and the 20 fun events offered each year. Little Chicken Love Yoga will teach yoga moves at the top of every hour, so your kid will become a Yogi in no time.
Live Performances
Get a good spot near the performance stage to see a dance and arts showcase, Sir Crazy Pants, Mister Greenthumbs Sing-a-Long and Keep and Beat DJs.
Train Rides
The train is back this year–hop aboard the miniature train at the north gate and take in the views of the festival. Both kids and adults will love to watch how the locomotive “steams” as it moves along.
Storytelling Galore
Stop by the Storytelling Stage to hear the Southern Order of Storytellers tell one of their yarns at noon or 1:35 p.m. Don’t miss a spooky tale by Lawrenceville Ghost Tours at 1 p.m.
Princess Land
Transform into a magical princess by visiting Le Petite and Posh’s princess area, which includes face painting, manicures and even a photo opportunity with a real princess.
Hands-On Activities
Kids can discover a variety of instruments with the Music And Arts Musical Petting Zoo. Pick up a trumpet, touch a flute or play a guitar. Future doctors and nurses will love helping our bears feel better at Teddy Bear Hospital. Dig your hands into science experiments with Fun Weird Science, make some slime or even launch a marshmallow. Visit Home Depot to measure, hammer and build.
Halloween Fun
Don’t miss the pumpkin scavenger hunt (solve the riddles and find pumpkins hidden around the festival grounds), pumpkin toss, buckets, treasures and even paint a mini pumpkin.
Toddler Area
Toddlers will feel right at home in this area fit just for their size, no big kids allowed! Tots can jump on the Tiny Tot Express or Rescue Heroes playground. Ride Thomas the Train, play in the ball pit or play a game of duck pond.
Win Prizes
Try your luck at our Spinning Wheels: Kids Prize Wheel, Halloween Prize Wheel and Mommy Prize Wheel. Win some of your favorite children’s books during the Book Walk.
Each year, we invite organizations focused on helping families to become beneficiaries for Atlanta Parent’s Family Festival, this year the festival benefits Girls Inc. and Lift Up Atlanta. Purchase Tickets Here.
