As an International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum school, AIS is committed to engage all students in STEAM and experiential, problem-based learning with coding and computer science from 3K to grade 12. Our primary years STEAM curriculum introduces students to computer science, information technology and digital literacy through classroom units of inquiry. The secondary years program focuses on learning for action and impact through social entrepreneurialism, coding and computer science electives with the option to achieve a professional certification and continue in grades 11 and 12 with a two-year computer science course at the diploma level.
The STEAM program is complemented with Robotics challenges and Girls in STEM, a group focused on increasing the opportunities of girls participating in STEM activities including after school coding camps for VR and AR.
With Primary Makerspaces and a new innovation hub opening in Fall 2018, AIS offers a dynamic collaborative environment for all students, faculty and community members, designed to encourage the growth of student ventures at any stage of development.
