Make a Craft You’ll Want to Keep

Here’s a fun craft to do with your kids, courtesy of Project Kid: 100 Ingenious Crafts for Family Fun by Atlanta native Amanda Kingloff, former lifestyles director of Parents magazine (Artisan Books, 2014, $22.95).

Pegboard Play
This is a two-part project: after an adult makes the board, the kid can design it.
Over and over and over again.

What you’ll need:
Pegboard
Bolts (size 10-24 by 1 inch)
Nuts (size 10-24)
Potholder cotton loops  (available at Michaels arts and crafts stores)

Directions:
Insert a bolt into the back of the pegboard and tighten it to the board with a nut on the front.

Place a bolt in every other hole until you have the board covered to your liking.

Kids can make lines, shapes, letters, and pictures with the cotton loops.

Tip: Your Pegboard can be any size. I cut mine down to 2 feet by 2 feet.
