1. What type of photo should I submit?
A 4” x 6” or 5” x 7” photo shows off your child best. Photos with their smiling faces are better than pictures that are taken at a distance. It’s okay to have a full body shot, as long as their face clearly shows. Photos do not need to be headshots or professionally taken. We are looking at the child. We do not recommend sending wallet size or photos on the copy machine. The photo needs to be able to reproduce clearly. Remember, we only see your child through the photo you send- we strongly suggest taking an up to date photo of your child in their most natural environment that shows their personality and style.
2. What age children can be entered in the contest?
Newborn to 12 years for the individual category. Group category has no age restriction for parent/grandparent.
3. How many photos may be submitted?
Please send only one photo per entry. Entries with more than one photo will be disqualified.
But, What if I can't decide which photo to send? You may enter as many photos as you like- each photo must be include a registration form & $25 entry fee.
4. Can I send my entry and photo via e-mail?
We do not currently accept entries or photos online. Please use standard mail. Mail to Atlanta Parent Cover Kids Contest, 2346 Perimeter Park Dr., Atlanta, GA 30341.
5. Who picks the winners?
We have an industry panel of judges from local talent agencies and photography studios. Judges pick winners based on appearance, charisma, expression, and having that special something. Judges are instructed to judge with no discrimination towards gender or race. Please understand the judges have a difficult job. Judges' decisions are final.
6. When will winners be announced?
The final winners will be posted on our web site and published in the September Atlanta Parent magazine.
7. When will we be notified if our child is one of the 50 semi-finalists?
Semi-finalists will be notified by early July via mail and posted on the web site. Final decisions are not entitled or limited to age group. If chosen, child must be available week of July 14.
8. How much does it costs to enter?
It costs $25 per child to enter. *New* group category is $45 per entry. Entries must be accompanied by payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Check or Money Order.
If your form of payment is returned, your entry will be disqualified unless additonal funds are sent. Additional return check fee may apply.
9. Will photos be returned?
Photos will not be returned.
10. Is the Cover Kids Contest the only way I can get my child on the cover of or inside Atlanta Parent magazine?
