Hammond Park
705 Hammond Drive, Atlanta

Kids building sand castles, enjoying picnics and swinging high into the sky sets the scene at Hammond Park’s playground area. Kids will love the freedom to run from playground to playground, and parents can relax because the whole area is fenced in and away from any traffic.

The park has two playgrounds; one is more suitable for younger or special needs children, and the other one is geared toward older kids. There’s a sandbox, where kids can build sand castles for hours, while you rest at the picnic pavilion nearby. A row of swings will help even the youngest tots touch their toes to the clouds.

The smaller playground has three slides, two of which are tunnels. The multi-level towers are fun for kids to climb up and under as they make their way from one end of the playground to the other. The ground is rubber, so it’s a soft landing pad for those who may fall down.

The bigger playground is a great place for kids to play with friends. The tunnel slide, twisty slide, rings, climbing net, swinging bridge and poles to slide down can be an imaginary pirate ship, castle or fire station. The ground is covered with wood chips, so watch out for little ones who may want to pick them up.

  • Restrooms and water fountains are available.

  • The park is wheelchair accessible.

  • Directions: Take 285 to the Peachtree-Dunwoody exit (28). Take the ramp towards Glenridge, then merge onto Peachtree-Dunwoody Rd. Turn left on Hammond Dr.
