Holcomb
Bridge Park
Features: With swings galore and
three distinct playground structures, kids can play like they
mean it at Holcomb Bridge Park. Catered to your youngest tykes,
the smallest of the structures is squatty and compact, with
little steps and short slides. And for the kings and queens of
the playground, a much larger structure towers over the
wood-chipped landscape, complete with long, curvy slides. Little
adventurers will particularly enjoy the third structure, which
features a mini-climbing wall, a rope ladder and a plastic
rolling log. Besides the structures, there’s plenty of open
grass to enjoy, and the large octagonal picnic pavilion is a
perfect place for birthday parties or post-game celebrations.
Another half dozen or so picnic tables sit underneath a shady
canopy of pine trees, overlooking the action on the playground.
Amenities: Not only are the
restrooms super-sanitary, but they’re close to the playground.
There’s plenty of parking at the park, but parents beware –
there’s no fence separating the recreation areas from the
parking lot.
Directions: From Peachtree
Industrial North, exit at Jimmy Carter Blvd. Take a left and
continue on Holcomb Bridge Rd. for about two miles, and you
can’t miss the park (it’ll be on your right). The address is
4300 Holcomb Bridge Rd., Norcross. Call 770-814-4914 for more
information.
