American Girl Boutique and Bistro

What’s on the menu: Unlike other locales, a dining experience at the American Girl Bistro inside the American Girl Boutique at North Point Mall, is in a league of its own. The restaurant boasts fantastic fare, from paninis and salads to vegetable quiche for adults, to classic kid-friendly foods like chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, and pizzas for the pickiest petite diner. Meals include an appetizer, entrée and side dish. A bitty menu – named for the “Bitty Baby” line of dolls for the younger set – offers kids ages 4 and under, smaller, perfect-sized portions with fresh fruit on the side. The bistro offers a brunch on Saturdays and holidays, too.

Why your kids will like it: Little diners can bring their American Girl doll from home, or select a doll to dine with them at the table. Highchairs for the dolls attach to the table, and offer some entertainment and interaction while waiting for the meal to arrive. And if a doll needs her hair brushed, an employee can ensure a visit to the in-store hair salon for a quick fix before lunch. Diners love the pink lemonade and the end-of-meal dessert.

Why parents will like it: This totally girlie venue has terrific prices, and the plates are heaping with delicious and healthy food, for adults and kids. The price per meal is $13.50, and includes an appetizer, entrée and side dish. Guests can check out the American Girl store while waiting for a table. If there’s no time for a meal, enjoy a quick treat at the dessert counter. This unique Atlanta eatery attracts hundreds of people each day, so be sure to make advance reservations.
