Tolleson Park
Features: Kids will enjoy the boldly colored playground
structure that boasts a tubular twisty slide, spiraling
double-helix climbing bars and a three-in-one curvy slide that’s
great for racing playmates to the ground. And even if your child
only tries to see how fast he can spin them, you’ll still love
the educational panels that (ideally) teach kids the states and
their capitals. A pair of benches keep you near enough to the
action for the occasional reprimand, but not so close that your
Crocs get trampled. With softball, little league and soccer
fields, six tennis courts, a sand volleyball court and an
Olympic-sized pool, Smyrna’s Tolleson Park has something for
everyone.
Amenities: The complex offers plenty of parking and
restrooms that are both clean and centrally-located.
Directions: Tolleson Park is only a couple of miles from
I-285. Take the Atlanta Rd. exit (exit 16), and head south
towards Smyrna. Then take a left at Cumberland Pkwy., hang a
right at S. Cobb Dr., take a right at King Springs Rd. and the
park will be a half-mile down on your left. The address is 3590
King Springs Rd., Smyrna. Call 770-431-2844 or visit
www.smyrnaacity.com for more information.
