North Park

Features: Nestled between a softball field and a little league field, Alpharetta’s North Park playground lets you keep the little one entertained without missing any of the big one’s crucial at-bats. In addition to playground staples like monkey bars, stepping pods and slides galore, the structure also features a rock-climbing wall and a wheelchair access ramp. And if your kid has a secret for you that he doesn’t want to scream across the playground, he’ll enjoy screaming it to you through the ever-popular underground talking pipe. Beside the playground sits a covered picnic pavilion that’s perfect for a post-game pizza party, or just a great spot to watch the kids.

Amenities: The complex offers plenty of parking and the bathrooms are in pristine condition, but the real bonus is to visit when the park’s concession stand is open.

Directions: North Park is easy to find. Just head North on GA-400, get off at Windward Parkway (exit 11), take a left off the ramp, and the park is about 2.5 miles up on the left. The address is 13450 Cogburn Rd., Alpharetta.                                                                                                                                     – KG
