Mimi's Café
What’s on the menu:
Lunch and dinner offer ample selections that are sure
to please any palate. Fun, fried appetizers like zucchini
Parmesan and fried dill pickles are sure to get kids to eat
their veggies. Salads, quiches and soups are available for those
who want something on the lighter side; pasta, sandwiches,
burgers, fish, steaks and chops round out the menu for heartier
eaters.
Mimi’s also offers a full breakfast menu, complete with omelets,
a variety of french toast selections, breakfast burritos and
more. Entrees start at about $9, and the kids’ meals are $4.50.
Why your kids will like it: The kids menu has lots of
variety – chicken fingers, mini corn dogs, hamburgers, grilled
cheese, macaroni and cheese, PB&J, turkey dinner, soup and
salad, and spaghetti – each one comes with a choice of dessert.
The generous portions are just right for 10- to 12-year-olds.
And healthy options like orange juice and milk are available for
drinks. If you don’t want your little ones to eat fries, you can
choose applesauce, fresh fruit or vegetables as side options. If
there’s a wait, don’t worry. The muffin-and-bread basket, as
well as activities in the kids’ menu, will keep the little ones
busy.
Why parents will like it: There are lots of booths, plus
the low lighting and carpet give it a cozy atmosphere. Instead
of being in a “loud, bright kid restaurant,” you’re in a
restaurant that welcomes families with kids of all ages. The
high chairs are clean and do not have missing or broken straps.
If you’re watching your waist, the “lite” menu (which you have
to ask for) shows the calories, fat and sodium content of
everything on the menu. For your first visit to Mimi’s, you get
to take home a selection of its great muffins.
