DeShong Park
2859 North DeShong Road, Stone Mountain

Features: Gwinnett County’s DeShong Park is the perfect play space for teens, toddlers and small children. The park has a separate playground just for teens with four swings and two climbing structures. At the main playground designed for children ages 5 to 12, kids can race down a zip slide or a large double-slide shaped like a wishbone, and climb up four different angled and twisty ladders. Eight swings are available, two with enclosed tot seats. Next to the playground, there’s a climber with side steps, a whirl for kids to sit and spin on, and a track ride where you can grab the handles and glide across to the other side. A mini playground for toddlers ages 2 to 5 has three slides, two driving wheels, a climber and an activity panel with pictures of shapes, animals and letters. Tots who love to jump can bounce around on a spring pod.

Amenities: Restrooms, located by the main playground, have a baby changing station and a hands-free sink and dryer. Parking, picnic pavilions, water fountains and benches are available throughout the park.

Directions: DeShong Park is located at 2859 North DeShong Road in Stone Mountain. From I-285 East, take exit 39B toward Snellville and head east on Highway 78. Make a right on East Park Place Boulevard. Make a slight left onto Rockbridge Road and then a right on North DeShong Road. The park will be on your right.ng Pl. then a left on First Avenue. The park will be on your left across from the First Avenue Building Complex.
