First Avenue Park
44 First Avenue, Newnan

Features: Families with children of all ages will enjoy the fenced-in playground at this new three-acre park just outside the historic LaGrange district in Newnan. There are three slides for kids to race down – one single, one double and a curvy slide. Children can walk up steps or climb to the second level and dangle across the monkey bars. Toddlers have their own special spot on the playground with small-scale interactive features to explore. There are tunnels to crawl through, telephones to dial, wheels to steer and a wall with different fabrics and textures to feel.

Amenities: Parking is available in the front, where you’ll also find an emergency call button. On sunny days, parents can find shade under one of many picnic pavilions surrounding the playground. Older children will enjoy an open field where they can play football or toss around Frisbees.

Directions: First Avenue Park is located at 44 First Avenue in Newnan. From I-85 South, take the Newnan exit and go west on Highway 34. Bear right on Clark St., then make an immediate left on Jackson St., which turns into LaGrange St. Make a right on Long Pl. then a left on First Avenue. The park will be on your left across from the First Avenue Building Complex.
