The Blue Rooster
Café
107 Main Street, Lilburn 30047
770-931-2445
What’s on the menu: Breakfast and lunch are on the menu
here, although the Blue Rooster does offer a Friday night
dinner. This is good, home-style fare with a Southern flair.
Biscuits and gravy, eggs, pancakes and the like are served until
11 a.m. After that, lunch takes over with sandwiches, salads and
a daily blue plate special with a serving of meat and two
veggies.
Why your kids will like it: Every kid should try at least
one fluffer nutter, and that’s at the top of the kid’s menu.
(For the uninitiated, a fluffer nutter is a peanut butter and
marshmallow fluff sandwich.) Portions are sized – and priced –
right for little appetites. Each kid’s meal includes one of the
Blue Rooster’s delicious sugar cookies, too. Kids also will love
gazing into the dessert cases, which are filled with tantalizing
treats like cakes, filled cookies, and cinnamon buns the size of
a baby’s head.
Why parents will like it: The chicken salad here is
amazing, whether served on a bed of lettuce or one of the many
varieties of bread, made with grapes and just the right amount
of mayo. Sides include chips, potato salad or fresh fruit. And
did I mention the mouth-watering array of desserts?
