Carl Miller Park
Features:
Fourteen acres of fun await you at Coweta County’s Carl Miller
Park, where the dog days of summer meet their match. After
working up a sweat on one of the two large playgrounds or the
jogging trail, visitors can beat the heat with a refreshing
frolic in the sprinkler fountain.
Preschoolers are given VIP treatment at this park. Their
playground is conveniently located near the parking lot and is
next to the play fountain and restrooms. The two-level
playground is surfaced with recycled rubber, and the equipment
is made of durable plastic.
A second playground is Kids’ Castle Park, which encompasses
32,000 square feet of fenced-in fun. In addition to various
swings, bridges, forts, playhouses, boats, cars, airplanes and
trucks, the wooden play structure has numerous climbing
challenges as well as xylophones and wooden drums.
Amenities: The park is open daily, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.,
April-October, and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., November-March. Parking is
accessible. Picnic tables, wooden swings, water fountains and
vending machines are also available. There are four covered
picnic pavilions, which can hold up to 150 people each; three of
the pavilions may be reserved by Newnan Utilities customers by
calling 770-683-5516.
Directions: Newnan Utilities’ Carl Miller Park is located at
74 Sewell Road in Newnan. From I-85 South, take Exit 41 and turn
right onto Highway 29. Follow for several miles and then turn
left onto Sewell Rd; the park is on the left.
