Crescent Moon Eatery
What’s on the menu: You’ll find an organic twist on
home-style favorites at Crescent Moon, which serves
breakfast (all day), lunch and dinner. Whole-wheat
pancakes are a stand out (even the kid’s serving is
the size of a dinner plate), as is the Fried Green
Tomatoes sandwich. The child’s menu runs the gamut
from french toast to burgers to grilled salmon. Be
sure to save room for dessert, whether you choose a
slice of cake or a frozen treat from the Northlake
location’s soda fountain.
Why your kids will like it: The decor has a
sort of nouveau diner feel, complete with a counter
and stools, that just screams “fun.” It’s definitely
a laid-back dining experience, and kids are welcomed
from the moment they walk through the door. The
kid’s menu actually comes on a coloring sheet
featuring the restaurant’s signature moon and stars,
and you can admire the handiwork of past patrons,
hung up near the host station.
Why parents will like it: Crescent Moon loves
kids, and it shows in the menu offerings and how the
wait staff deals with kids. Blessed with a picky
eater? It’s no problem to swap bread on a sandwich
or get mac and cheese instead of fries on the side.
There’s enough variety on the menu to appeal to
everyone in the family, too.
