Playground of Dreams in
Paulding County
by Tiffany Capuano
The name says it all. Nestled
among green space and soccer fields, the massive
all-wooden Playground of Dreams is a true diamond in
the rough.
Amid the four slides, numerous
swings for babies, kids, adults and those with
special needs, the playground has spires galore and
looks much like a fortress. Children love climbing
to the top of the turrets and looking out over the
playground and fields.
Parents love the fact that
there’s only one entrance in and out of the
playground area, and it is entirely fenced in.
Stadium-like seating area near the entrance provides
parents with perfect views of the entire playground.
"What I like is there’s only one
exit and they can’t leave," says Wendy Bailey, a
mother of two from Dallas. "There’s a lot for them
to do."
There’s a small sandbox for
digging, a climbing net made of plastic-covered rope
cable and plenty of space to move in, under and
around. There are also monkey bars and a tire
tunnel.
The flat surfaces of the elevated playground are
made from an all-weather material, giving kids the
ability to climb and run without fear of splinters.
The massive layer of mulch (a processed wood fiber)
is also a great safety factor and helps with all the
jumping and landing the children do.
