Fernbank Museum of Natural History:
Explore the “Giants of the Mesozoic,” this
local museum’s permanent dinosaur exhibit.

Creative Discovery Museum: Located in
Chattanooga, this hands-on children’s museum
has great interactive exhibits for kids,
including an “excavation site” to dig for
fossils.

McWane Science Center: You won’t want to
miss the fossil exhibit at this Birmingham,
Ala., museum which houses a variety of

North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences:
Located in Raleigh, this museum includes a
large dinosaur exhibit featuring the world’s
only dinosaur with a fossilized heart. Free

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural
History: Located in Washington, D.C., the
Smithsonian includes the most extensive
dinosaur exhibits in the country.

Children’s Museum of Indianapolis: The
world’s largest children’s museum is also
home to the nation’s largest display of
juvenile dinosaurs. It features a dinosaur
dig, a functioning paleontology lab, a
question lab with in-depth dinosaur
information, and Kelsey, one of the top
three fossilized Triceratops known to
science.
