
Head to the Rodeo
Round up your mini cowpokes and head to the
Wild West for the Little Britches Rodeo every
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in July. Your
little buckaroo can participate in bungee bull
riding, stick horse races, sack races, and
fast-draw (pictures!). Each cowboy or cowgirl
can learn how to handle the miniature horses and
lead them through an obstacle course. End the
day with a parade for the parents to show off
their new skills.

Become a Railroad Engineer
With the help of the Southern Museum, your
child can be a railroad engineer for the day.
Kids can learn railroad signals and how to
operate a locomotive while practicing safety
skills. Each engineer receives an “Engineer’s
License” to keep and take home after the one-day
session. 10 a.m.-noon. July 18 for kids ages 6-8
and July 19 for kids ages 9-12. $40 per child.

Join the Circus for a Day
Jump into the ring as Circus Summer Camp
introduces children to circus performing and
visual arts. Kids can learn how to use the
trapeze, walk a tightrope, be a clown and
juggle. Get in on the act on Mondays during
their “Try Me” day throughout July. 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Stir Up Gourmet Meals
Grab your mini chef and your big appetites to
join the Young Chefs Academy for their Big Chef
Little Chef classes. Each cooking lesson
features themes, such as Tour de France, Campout
Cooking and Summer Salsas. Children don their
aprons and chef hats, alongside a parent, and
learn cooking preparation and techniques,
kitchen safety and manners. $35 per class. Times

Climb a Tree
Tree climbing is not just for your backyard
anymore. Tree Climbers International offers
organized tree climbing for the entire family.
Protecting the trees and safety is key, while
families enjoy recreational climbing with an
instructor. By using the “rope and harness”
technique, instructors teach how to climb a tree
safely and enjoy the sights from the treetops.
Climbs first and third Sunday each month (July 2
and 16), 2-5 p.m. $15 per person, ages 5 and up.
